A centre dedicated to health and wellness education
The Village is a world-class health and wellness facility that blends Indigenous, Eastern, and Western practices with applied learning and applied research opportunities. It’s the only model of its kind in Canada. Located at Canadore College’s Education Centre campus, it provides a collaborative inter-professional education. The Village integrates teaching with experiential learning through student-led clinics that offer senior and community care in North Bay and neighbouring communities.
Intergenerational model of education
Canadore College is training the next generation of Canada’s health care professionals at The Village. A full range of health and human science programs is offered while inspiring a new ideal for intergenerational, holistic care and healing that can be adopted by communities across the country.
Students are participating in The Village Collective Impact Project, a collaboration of seniors aged 60 and over, caregivers, and community agencies to develop new models of healthy aging and social inclusion to improve seniors’ well-being.
