Through partnerships with industry-leading innovators, the Centre for Aging + Brain Health Innovation is helping address unmet seniors’ needs.

The Centre for Aging + Brain Health Innovation (CABHI) is a national solution accelerator that supports innovators in developing, validating, and disseminating new ideas and technologies in aging and brain health — a sector that’s especially critical due to COVID-19.

One of these innovators is Trualta, an Ontario company offering an online education platform for family caregivers of people with dementia. The company has adapted professional training for the family audience.

CABHI is enabling Trualta to demonstrate that its product improves health outcomes, prevents re-admission to the hospital, and reduces caregiver stress. CABHI’s support has propelled Trualta to rapid growth across Canada and 15 U.S. states, and the company now helps thousands of caregivers provide care for their loved ones with dementia at home.

Canada needs innovation to support successful aging, and innovators need pathways to commercialization to spread and scale innovations and help grow Canada’s economy. CABHI plays a critical role in advancing both goals and provides a model for success in other sectors.
