Nuna designs products that parents can trust to keep their babies comfortable, happy, and safe as they grow.

Nuna’s car seats, high chairs, strollers, and swings are designed to be functional, stylish, and easy to use. But the company’s priority is child safety.

All of Nuna’s gear is extensively tested before it leaves the factory, and the company uses advanced equipment and testing methods that go above and beyond what’s required. To ensure compliance with safety standards, Nuna’s products are regularly tested at accredited and independent labs.

“Nuna puts children’s safety first, and we have the highest standards when it comes to car safety and children’s safety,” says Rima Abouassaly, Marketing Manager at EI Brand Management, Canadian distributor of Nuna. This commitment follows children through all stages with infant, convertible, and booster seats. For example, the PIPA™ infant car seat features side-impact security, true lock™ installation, and green-for-go safety indicators. It also uses fabrics that are flame retardant and additive free.

Advancing child road safety around the world

“We are also proud to partner with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) to advance child road safety education and create a network of experts committed to keeping kids safer on the road,” Abouassaly says. UNITAR offers training and learning opportunities for public officials and legislators to implement programmes that promote child restraint systems and courses for parents and caregivers on the proper use of child restraint systems and seat belts. UNITAR’s goal is to advance the UN’s Global Road Safety Performance Target 8, which is to increase the proportion of motor vehicle occupants using safety belts or standard child restraint systems to close to 100 percent by 2030.

“Nuna puts children’s safety first and we have the highest standards when it comes to car safety and children’s safety.”

Protecting the air that children breathe

“We’re also committed to protecting the place where little ones will grow up,” says Abouassaly. “It’s important to know that our baby gear contributes to higher quality air in your home or car environment.” Eight Nuna products have met the standards for GREENGUARD GOLD certification, meaning that they have been thoroughly tested and certified to not contribute hazardous chemicals or volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into the air.

Abouassaly is also proud of Nuna’s clever engineering and design. “From a car seat with a quick 5-second install to a playard that pops up in seconds, the Nuna family of products do exactly what you need them to do.”

Nuna began in the Netherlands in 2007 with one product, the ZAAZ™ high chair. The ZAAZ was launched in Canada in 2013, and the brand has grown exponentially ever since.

“It’s all about the right balance between functionality and practicality” says Abouassaly. “We understand the busy day to day of today’s parents and we want to help them enjoy each stage and to know they are using products they can trust to keep their children comfortable, happy, and safe.”
